The Productive Year Hi, it's me N.C.R. again here with another blog post about being productive. Today I will be talking about the productive year. I have enjoyed talking about productivity for the last few weeks. I know a lot more could probably be said about productivity, but this is my last episode about productivity. I am such a busy person I got so much going on, and I am doing so much, I hope my busy schedule is not affecting any of my projects or podcasts. Being busy is not necessarily a sign of being productive. I try not to multitask, but I am working on a Bible website, and I do a show title "My Sister Named Faith", besides doing this podcast. What is multitasking? Is it doing multiple things at the same time? Or is it doing multiple things with the same life? Or living different lives at the same time? Or is it trying to do too much in too little time? I don't know but I do know that multitasking is not good for productivity. My biggest prayer for my summer and my life is that it is a productive one. And as I have talked about in previous weeks, if it is not God's will, you are wasting your time. One of my biggest struggles in life is knowing the will of God. One note that I jotted down this week in my notebook is. Lord help me to focus on what matters. I jotted down a few other notes this week… We need to be productive regardless of circumstances. This year sure did not play out the way I PLANNED it to. I thought I was going to be working at Riverside this summer. I thought I was going to do a book signing event this spring. But Covid-19 changed my planes. I have had to make new plans. To be productive you need to be intentional. Have you spent enough time with God? Have you spent enough time with people? Is there anything you wish you had done differently? We live in such a fast paced word. Don't let your days, weeks, months, and years fly by. Without using your mind to think. Without using your body to be productive.

What is the worst thing that could happen to you? I can't remember if I did an episode about that before. Hi, my name is N.C.R. and today I am at the Hillview cemetery with another episode of Cemetery Reflections. Today I just wanted to ask a few questions to help you think. What is the worst thing that could happen to you? (Supposing the answer is death.) What is the worst thing that could happen to you before you die? What is the worst thing that you could do before you die? What is the worst thing that could happen to you after you die? What is the best thing that could happen to you? What is the best thing that could happen to you before you die? What is the best thing that you could do before you die? What is the best thing that could happen to you after you die? One of the worst things that could happen to you... You could die without knowing God. You could die without having a relationship with God. I had this verse in my notes, but forgot it: "Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain." - Psalms 127:1 KJV The Productive Week - My notes
Hi, it's me N.C.R. again here with another blog post about being productive. Today I will be talking about the productive week. You can do much more in a week than you can in a day. If you have been tuning into this series then you know that I have talked about the productive second, minute, hour, and day so far. As I think about the productive things I can talk about in the future, I wonder if I should stop here. (I probably won't) I don't know about you, but there is a lot of time in a week. And well to be honest, I don't think that I use all the time in my week wisely. But there is something about seeing the bigger picture. Sure there may be times in a week when I am not being productive, sure there may be times in a week when it seems as if I am wasting time. But what I like about seeing the bigger picture is that there was definitely time in the week when I was being productive. (Writers' lives are interesting.) I want to say two things today. One: Emotions play a part in how productive you can be. But you should not let your emotions tell you how productive you have been. Two: And also today I will talk a little bit about scheduling. A period of rest helps you to be more productive. In this episode we just started looking at the big picture. Things will get more exciting as we continue to look at the bigger and bigger picture. (And I hope I put energy into writing something good.) When it comes to productivity it is great if you can say: "At least I haven't wasted as much time as some people I know." But how much time did you waste? What did you do with your time? Were you productive with the time that God gave you? God loves you and He has big plans for your life. "Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain." - Psalms 127:1 KJV "Before you can start being productive in a week, you need to start being productive with your days. But before you can start being productive with your days, you need to know what God's purpose and plan is for your life. One you know that then you can start accomplishing more than the day to day activities." Just a few days ago one month ended and another month started. Time flies. But we should not allow time to fly right by us without accomplishing anything. |
